Each applicant is required to give a 4- to 5-minute speech. Winners progress to the next level.

Who:
The Oratorical Contest is for young people under the age of 16 as of December 31, 2009, who are educated in the United States, Canada or the Caribbean.
How To Enter:
Interested students must contact their local Arizona Optimist Club. They need to submit an application to a local Optimist Club.
When:
The deadline for students to submit applications is determined by the sponsoring Club, but is normally in January. Please contact your District Chair for more information. All Club-level contests are normally held in February or March. Regional (Zone) contests are normally in April and the Arizona District contest is at the 3rd quarter conference, which is normally in May. Student submissions will not be accepted after the Club-level contests have closed.
